I too suffer from 1911s chewing on my hands [and have the scars on the web of my hand to prove it]. Sometimes the wider Target Style hammers do not come as far back, so maybe look at those.

BB, your Armed Forces used Browning High Powers for a long time. If you can find holsters for that gun, many will fit a 1911 well.

CMP announced today it is joining with Tisas [yeah, they are a Turkish company] to produce WW2 spec 1911A1s. They will even have a CMP logo on them. Dates, prices and logo location have not been released yet.

If you are not sure if you want checkering, try the Wilson front panel. I have it on a Commander and have used it on several 1911s and Sig 220s over the years.

Hiya Bear, I had to dig back in my records, but I have had good results using a 230 cast rn under 7.5 grains of Accurate #5.

I figgered as much, thanks. I just like the looks of the wide hammer. 🤠

Before I waste effort, I just want to make sure I'm okay on this. A wide spur [target type] hammer, as on the original 1911 [pre A1] changes is legal for traditional 1911s. right?

Got asked at work today a WB question. Would a Model 25 be legal for WB since it is simply a Model 12 without the ability to take it down? I told him probably not, since it is not listed in the acceptable list and didn't come out until 1925. Was I correct? And also, if it is not legal, should it be considered to be legalized? Thanks

Okay, a question for the collective minds here. Going to be either making or buying a holster for WB, I was reading the rules on pages 16 & 17 and can find nothing similar to the restrictions on pistol height on the belt. Are there requirements/restrictions I am missing?

I've used other bullets from them with good results.

A Mitchell's Mauser would be an excellent candidate for a shooter competition rifle. They were gunsmith checked for headspace and are not collectable. The MAS 36 were excellent guns with good sights, but avoid those [and the K31s] converted to .308 as cartridge head diameter was different enough to occasionally cause feeding and extraction problems.
