  1. I saw the email from Misty to every SASS member regarding WB and the changes. Did I miss something in regards to updates between what we discussed as our proposal to SASS and todays email? I thought we had submitted our comments to SASS and have been waiting for their reply?

  2. I personally love the 12's and absolutely hate the 97's.  They snake bite me even just picking one up.  I am pretty sure they do it on purpose, LOL.  My model 12's (6 and counting, all smoothed up) all feel smoother than my 97's (one Winny & one Coyote Cap Norinco).  4 of my 12's have the flag and I like them better.  Disclaimer: I am a double shooter for CAS and although I am decent with the 12 if I actually practiced with it and became proficient with it I would probably experience more mechanical issues but to date have only had a firing pin break on one of them and it was an older well used gun.  Yes I am a gun hoarder but when you go to gun auctions and can pick them up for $200-300 they tend to follow you home somehow...

  5. The NYS Wild Bunch Championship,  Muster @ Ft. Misery, will be held May 15-16, 2021 in Ballston Spa, NY (upstate NY). We already have 65 shooters signed up!!  This match is NOT cowboy with a 1911.  We have a great mix of target sizes and distances, numerous specialty targets (single and double clay bird popper knockdown targets, dueling trees, plate racks, knockdowns,  etc), stages are written to be left and right hand friendly when possible, and there's a variety of starting positions utilized.  It's a fun but challenging match.  You can check out the last 2 yrs stages at our website www.circlekregulators.com as well as get the application there.  This year's stages will be posted a week or so before the match.  Hope you can join us!
  6. Since I shoot a sxs in CAS the biggest difference I noticed is that the model 12 is a PIA if you have to reload 2 for a popper on a stage with 8 rounds and aren't fast enough to single load both rounds.  Getting your thumb stuck half in the mag tube is rather unpleasant.  I also believe that the ejection port on the model 12 is smaller making single reloads slightly harder too.  At least on mine when I  compare them they are.  Again I  am a sxs shooter so for those that normally shoot a 97 in CAS they may be much more proficient at reloading the 12.  Having said that I think my 12 is much smoother and would rather shoot that than the 97.  I only use the 97 if I  have a stage with 8 rounds and the reload has to be on a popper. Just my opinion though.

  8. In reading the new RO Manual version 12.1, January 2019, on page 7 under 5.) Timer Operator, it says "If the next competitor is shooting a model 12 shotgun,  the TO will ask the shooter to point it safely down range and pull the trigger. If it goes click, SDQ and if it goes bang MDQ." I thought you no longer had to declare a model 12 so is this if the TO suspects it is cocked or is this a section that should have been revised, or am I  wrong that the model 12 doesn't need to be declared?

    Thank you.  Roper
