  1. About every other day, there is a question posted on the SASS Wire about registering here. If SASS supports Wild Bunch so much, why do they make it SO hard for new shooters to register here? Is it a mistake or a deliberate attempt to do so? That’s a rhetorical question. CC? You have an answer? Just like the five years I hosted the New Mexico State Wild Bunch State Championship at Founder’s Ranch, just minutes away from the SASS headquarters and always offered free entry to the match, always a free dinner to anyone in the SASS office who would come. Want to guess how many ever showed up?

  2. Looks like the wire is down now for over 24 hrs . I thought i could come over here to see what might be going on ? Obviously these are two separate systems . I had to register here and it would not take my login information . I'm a SASS wire vet over there and I'm a newbie here . So , Johnny I'm Here !

  9. I took the opportunity to shoot our Wild Bunch Lite category at my local club. I also shot my usual Gunfighter category as well. It was our first hot weather day and I was drenched in sweat by the end. I think between that and shooting each stage twice I didn't shoot very well. But here are videos of the same stage one as gunfighter and one as WBL

  10. Here's another thing: SASS membership falling as aging members drop out. SASS doesn't talk about this, but look around. Younger SASS shooters are mostly SASS kids or grandkids and they disappear as soon as girls and cars become age available. Non SASS shooters have no use for single action sixguns as they are useless for self defense (try reloading one quickly). On the other hand: lever gun, 1911 and pump shotgun are ideal for self defense. Also: SASS target distances mimic real life shooting scenarios (see FBI stats on gunfight ranges).

  11. Checkmate makes mags for Ruger, Colt, Ed Brown and many others. They have run the best for me. You have to pay extra to have Tripp weld the base plate on their mags just to make them stay on. You’d think on the most expensive magazine on the market it would work without having to pay extra… Using 7 round mags keeps you from accidentally overloading the mag. Keep your 8 round mags for every day carry, if they’re good mags or use them for other shooting games.

  12. They don't answer like the old days. I have no luck calling either! Emails don't always get answered either. 🥴

  13. Seems like SASS is a dying sport here in Michigan. Clubs are dropping faster then cartridges from a 1911 . Are there any clubs in West Michigan shooting WB ?
